Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe as you travel north toward the remote wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, rural towns, and scenic countryside in northern Uganda. Upon arrival, you check in to your lodge and enjoy the stunning views of the park’s vast savannah plains surrounded by rugged mountains. Later in the evening, you may take a short game drive in the wildlife-rich Narus Valley, where animals such as buffalo, elephants, and antelope are often seen gathering near water sources before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive through the famous Narus Valley, the park’s main wildlife area. This remote park is home to a wide variety of animals including lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and several antelope species. Bird lovers may also spot many unique bird species that thrive in the savannah ecosystem. In the afternoon, you can enjoy another game drive or visit a nearby Karamojong community to learn about their traditional lifestyle, culture, and cattle-keeping practices. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, depart Kidepo Valley National Park and travel southwest toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most famous national park. The journey offers scenic views of northern Uganda’s landscapes and local communities along the way. Upon arrival in the park, check in at your lodge and later visit the top of the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the powerful waters of the Victoria Nile squeeze through a narrow gorge before plunging down dramatically. Enjoy the breathtaking views and photography opportunities before heading back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Safari in Murchison Falls

Start the day with an early morning game drive across the northern savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. This area is known for its abundant wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and sometimes elusive leopards. After lunch, enjoy an unforgettable boat cruise along the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. During the cruise, you may see large groups of hippos, Nile crocodiles basking along the riverbanks, and many bird species such as kingfishers and fish eagles. Return to the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Rhino Tracking at Ziwa and Return

After breakfast, depart the park and travel back toward Kampala, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you will enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, offering a rare opportunity to observe these magnificent animals up close in their natural habitat. This activity completes the chance to see members of Africa’s famous Big Five during your safari. After the experience, continue the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your unforgettable five-day wildlife adventure.
