5-Day Murchison Falls & Kidepo Wildlife (Big-5) Safari – Overview
A 5-Day Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls & Ziwa Rhino Safari begins with an adventure to the remote wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Africa’s most untouched safari destinations. Travelers typically depart from Kampala or Entebbe and fly or drive north to the park, where vast savannah plains surrounded by rugged mountains provide an incredible setting for wildlife viewing. Game drives in the famous Narus Valley offer opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and large herds of antelope, while the dramatic landscapes make it a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.
The safari then continues south to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most popular national park. Here, travelers enjoy exciting game drives across the northern savannah in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and leopards. A highlight of the visit is the boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, which leads to the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge before plunging down with tremendous power. The trip concludes with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where visitors can track wild rhinos on foot, completing the chance to encounter the Big Five before returning to Kampala or Entebbe. This safari combines remote wilderness, iconic landscapes, and remarkable wildlife experiences in just five unforgettable days.
