Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe heading northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience on foot. After lunch, continue to the park and later visit the top of the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where the Nile dramatically squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging down. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelopes, and possibly leopards roaming the open savannah. Return to the lodge for lunch before enjoying a relaxing afternoon boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, you can observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, and many bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Gulu – Cultural Experience

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and travel north to Gulu, the cultural and economic hub of northern Uganda. The journey offers scenic views of rural landscapes and local communities. Upon arrival, explore the town and visit nearby villages to learn about the traditions and daily life of the Acholi people. Cultural activities may include traditional music, dance, storytelling, and interaction with local artisans. Dinner and overnight in Gulu.

Day 4: Northern Uganda Heritage Exploration

Spend the day exploring historical and cultural sites around Gulu and surrounding areas. You may visit community projects, local markets, and cultural centers that showcase the resilience and heritage of the Acholi people. Travelers gain insights into the region’s history, traditions, and post-conflict recovery while enjoying authentic cultural exchanges. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Return to Kampala / Entebbe

After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy scenic views along the way with optional stops at roadside markets or viewpoints. Arrival in the afternoon marks the end of your memorable 5-Day Murchison Falls & Northern Uganda Adventure, filled with wildlife encounters, natural wonders, and cultural experiences.
