5 Days Murchison Falls and White Water Rafting Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

You will be met by your guide of the day at your hotel for a short briefing about your 3 Day Murchison Falls safari overview and then drive 4-5 hours to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey will take you for En-route lunch in Masindi or kabalega. Proceed and enter the park with a visit to the top of the falls where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-meter canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar. Have a game drive as you drive to the lodge where you will overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.

After breakfast, you will cross the ferry to the northern part of part of Murchison Falls National Park for your early morning game drive. This northern part of Murchison Falls National Park known as Paraa is rich in wild game that include lions, buffaloes, elephants, several antelopes, leopards and so much more. The delta region is also very rich with water animals such as hippos, crocodiles and the rare shoebill stock. At Murchison Falls National Park, it is nature that gives so the fact that wild animals graze and move naturally, seeing any animal will depend on your luck of the day. Afterword’s, you will drive back to your lodge for lunch and then head for the afternoon boat cruise to the base of the falls. This boat cruise to the base of the falls is seen as the highlight of all activities at Murchison Falls National Park since many water and land animals can be sighted. Expect to see lots of Buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, many water birds as you cruise up stream to the base of the falls where water squeezes itself into a narrow gorge to later explode as it flows down words. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After breakfast, you will drive back to Jinja where you will spend the night, this will take you back to where the Nile actually starts from. You will have an en-route stop at the Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. You will track both white and black Rhinos at the sanctuary. Rhinos were poached to extinction during the 1970’s but the government and other non-government organization are trying to restore them back.

Day 4: White water Rafting and source of the Nile.

After breakfast, Meet up with the rafting team in Jinja and attend a briefing session after which you will get into the vehicle and drive to the starting point where you will also be taken though a brief exercise to familiarize yourself with the rafting experience. Make your choice between Grade 3 or Grade 5 rapids and begin your adventure. Rafting on the Nile River lasts between 1 to 3 hours and it is always celebrated with a cold bottle of Nile special beer at the end. Then drive to the source of the Nile to take a boat to see where the Nile starts from in the middle of Lake Victoria.

Day 5: Drive back to Entebbe for your flight out.

After a late morning breakfast in the morning, drive out and head back to Kampala/Entebbe to end the trip, en route you will have stops for viewing tea plantations, in Mabira Forest which is the only tropical forest in Uganda and then to Ssezibwa Falls reach late evening.
